Township Land North of the Grand River Since 1837
Organized December 30, 1837 as Kent County's second township, Walker originally covered all land north of the Grand River and was first settled that year by Samuel and Lydia White. The City of Walker itself wasn't incorporated until November 8, 1962, after renewed pressure to annex the township's industrial land.
